Natalie Hudson-Smith earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at The College of William and Mary in 2015. There, she performed research on polyimide nanocomposites in the lab of Dr. David Kranbuehl. After graduation, Natalie joined the lab of Dr. Christy Haynes at the University of Minnesota and joined the Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology. Her graduate research focused on the environmental impacts of engineered nanomaterials and methods for science outreach. For her postdoctoral studies, she is investigating nitric oxide sensing proteins in the lab of Dr. Elizabeth Boon.
Why I chose to join Stony Brook IRACDA: Throughout my graduate studies, I was always looking for opportunities to engage in outreach and science communication. The IRACDA program allowed me to not have to choose between teaching or just research and I wanted to have the best of both worlds.
