The last day for candidates to apply for graduation via SOLAR is 5/6/22 Please note that applications submitted after 4/13/22 will not appear in the digital commencement publication.
The Main Commencement Ceremony held on Friday, May 20 at 11 AM in LaValle Stadium is for the entire graduating class of May 2022. Names will not be read at this ceremony. Students will formally process in and sit on the field. There will be live music, the turning of the tassels, a Commencement address, and more. The convocation ceremonies are broken down by school or college and are smaller ceremonies during which schools and departments will call student names. Thornton Studios is able to reserve portrait sittings at this time. There will be no walk in appointments available, please be sure to make a reservation. Studio photography appointments will be held in the Wang Center in room 301. *Please note the room number is subject to change . In accordance with NYSDOH guidelines, we ask that while you wait to have your portrait taken, you wear a face mask at all times and maintain 6-ft social distance. - Candidates and Faculty participating in the academic processional should arrive at the Indoor Sports Complex Parking Lot, located on the west side of the Sports Complex, wearing their cap and gown. Candidates and Faculty participating in the ceremony should arrive at 10:00 AM for line up.
Yes, our Commencement ceremony will be live streamed and a recording of the ceremony will be posted on the Commencement website following the event. A live stream link will be posted on the commencement website the morning of the event.

- If you have not yet made your Class Legacy gift and wish to participate, please go online and visit the class legacy donation link to contribute! And when a graduating student from the Class of 2022 makes a gift of $20.22 or more, they will receive a generosity cord to wear at Commencement as a token of appreciation for their contribution!
- Honors stoles will be distributed by your department one week prior to Commencement. For information on where to pick up your stole, please contact your respective school or college.
Honors distinctions are based on your CURRENT grade point average. The actual distinction awarded may be different as it is based on your FINAL grade point average. The actual honor will appear on your final transcript and diploma.

How do I change my name for my diploma? Update your name in your SOLAR account under Diploma Address.
I am a dual major, why is only one of my majors noted in SOLAR? It is just a system limitation, both majors will be printed on your diploma.
Can I pick up my diploma? No, all diplomas will be mailed to the mailing address provided in your SOLAR account. Please make sure it's an updated address.

Arena Accessibility (December)
ADA parking is available in LaValle Stadium, Gym Road, Indoor Sports Complex metered and Chemistry lots. Accessible seating is available in Sections: TBD (including suites). Event ushers will be available to assist guests if needed.
