Ron Goldman
CEO, AccuVein Inc.
AccuVein Inc., the global leader in vein visualization, announced that a panel of independent judges has selected its founder and CEO, Ron Goldman, as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2014 Award in the New York region. The awards program, one of the most prestigious awards for entrepreneurs, recognizes those who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on Tuesday, June 17th at the Marriott Marquis.
Goldman, an electrical engineer and patent attorney by training, helped create the brand new category of vein visualization. Starting IVs had been a blind, and often times challenging procedure prior to vein illumination, with 35% of adults and 52% of children requiring multiple sticks. Studies show 30% improvement when vein illumination is used. Five years later AccuVein is in over 3,000 hospitals worldwide and vein illumination is well on its way to becoming the standard of care.
In addition to this latest honor, earlier this year AccuVein was awarded the Prism Award for Photonics Innovation. In 2013 AccuVein won the Gold Edison Award and the Red Herring Top 100 North America Award. AccuVein is also a two time gold Medical Design Excellence Award winner, having won it in 2013 and 2010.
Now in its 28th year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries throughout the world. Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on November 15, 2014.
