Responsibilities & Requirements

Stony Brook University’s Department of Computer Science invites applicants for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professors levels for Fall 2018.  Exceptionally qualified junior and senior candidates in all areas of Computer Science are invited to apply.  Candidates in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: Computer/Operating systems, Smart Cities and Infrastructure (jointly with Civil Engineering), Cyber-Physical Systems and Engineering, Smart Grid, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Computational Science, and Computer-driven Medicine, yet all areas of Computer Science will be considered.  The Department currently has over 50 faculty members and is expected to recruit additional members in the next several years.  Detailed information on the Department can be found on the Department website: http://www.cs.stonybrook.edu. The Department is in a stage of significant growth, in terms of new faculty lines, a new Computer Science building, a Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) building, a recent Center of Excellence in Advanced Energy (AERTC), along with new programs at SUNY Korea.  The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will be responsible for teaching and research in Computer Science.

Special Notes

This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Fall 2018.
