Required Qualifications
MD or MD/Ph.D. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.
Board Certified/Eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise or additional training in heart failure/ventricular assist devices with
experience in clinical, translational or basic science research.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The Heart Failure Cardiomyopathy Program Center at Stony Brook University Medical
Center's Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is looking for a Heart Failure/Ventricular
Assist Device Specialist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The Heart Failure
and Cardiomyopathy Center consists of active outpatient (currently following >1000
patients annually) and in-patient (60 primary / 350 total heart failure patients each
month) services and a mechanical device program (JC certified 2011 and re-certified
in 2013). The center serves as a research or advanced cardiac care to a wide population
and multiple physician groups.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start
date: As soon as possible. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants'
qualifications and experience. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment,
the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
