Critical Care / Intensivist – Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
Required Qualifications
MD or equivalent. Four years postgraduate training in approved Anesthesiology residency
program. Anesthesia Board Certification or Eligibility. Formal fellowship training
in critical care. Board certification or eligibility in critical care. Licensure/Eligibility
for licensure in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates for advanced academic standing would be expected to provide evidence of
research experience.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The Assistant/Associate or Full Professor will be responsible for direct patient care
to critically ill cardiothoracic and surgical patients in dedicated units on a rotating
coverage basis, in addition to providing anesthesia services to patients undergoing
surgery. The selected candidate will be actively engaged in the instruction and/or
supervision of medical students, resident physicians and certified registered nurse
anesthetists. An active role in clinical and/or basic research will be strongly encouraged.
Senior faculty that are recruited will be expected to play an important part in the
administrative aspects of the Department, pertaining to the initiation of grant support,
design of research projects and organizational aspects pertaining to the clinical
and educational goals of the Department.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: As soon as possible. To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor or Professor,
the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
