CONVOCATION PROGRAM
This year, we welcome John Rocchetta (BS '97) as our Convocation Speaker
Mr. Rocchetta is Vice President and current partner at GreenLogic Energy with offices located in Southampton Village and Roslyn Heights (est. 2005). GreenLogic is a national Award-Winning renewable energy company with $15 million in annual revenue. His geology work and environmental consulting experience made the move into the Renewable Energy field seamless as geothermal, solar and wind became popular energy sources on Long Island. Prior to GreenLogic, Mr. Rocchetta was a Geologist and Project Manager at Environmental Assessment and Remediation (EAR) from 1997 to 2004. His varied experience included work on Long Island, NYC and upstate NY conducting contaminate plume tracking/delineation, GPR Studies, rock coring, fracture analysis, design and implementation of ground water remediation systems, as well as providing expert witness testimony for the NYSDEC. He currently volunteers as an Environmental Consultant to Peconic Land Trust and has served on their Stewardship Committee for the past 26 years. Mr. Rocchetta holds a Master Captains license and operates Tsunami Fishing Charters (est. 2002), which combine coastal geology tours by boat while fishing the bays, inlets and ocean of the south shore of Long Island. He is also owner/operator of Woods and Waves Management Inc. (est. 2015), which develops wildlife management plans for Eastern Long Island Villages, Homeowners Associations and Land Preservation Groups. His hobbies include skiing, running, fishing, archery and martial arts, reaching the rank of 2nd degree Black Belt in Kempo Karate.
