My dissertation tentatively titled “The Four Artisan Hospital Schools: Charitable Education in Edinburgh 1623-1855” explores the preservation of societal control through educationby the Merchant Company and Trade Incorporation in Edinburgh. My work intersects with the fields of Enlightenment, gender, religious, and social history. I also hold a Graduate Certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
