Dima Kozakov received his M.S in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and Ph.D. from the Biomedical Engineering Department at Boston University. Dima  was a research faculty at Boston University prior to  joining  Stony Brook University.

RESEARCH
Dima's research interests lie at the intersection of applied mathematics, physics and computational biology. He focuses on two main goals. The first is the development of mathematically elegant, computationally efficient and physically accurate algorithms for modeling macromolecular structure and function on the genome scale. The second is the application of novel methods to improving the understanding of biological problems and to the design of therapeutic molecules with desired biological and biomedical properties.

AWARDS & ACTIVITIES
Dima’s CLUSPRO, with more than 10,000 users, is currently  the best web server  for computational modeling of  protein-protein interactions according to the international  communal competition CAPRI.
His protein-protein docking software  package PIPER is licensed to Schrödinger, one of the largest pharmaceutical software vendors in the United States and worldwide.
