Sean Boykevisch is the Director at Stony Brook University’s Intellectual Property Partners (IPP) where he leads the team supporting the development and commercialization of SBU’s innovations. Prior to this role, he lead the life science licensing team as Assistant Director in overseeing SBU’s life science technology portfolio, where he managed the identification, vetting, IP protection, and out-licensing of new and existing technologies in the life sciences. To this end, his responsibilities included opportunity identification, collaboration development, IP management, license negotiation, agreement drafting and alliance management.
Sean began his career in the IPP in 2008 as a Licensing Associate and has since held positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining the IPP, he was a Manager of Business Development at the Center for Biotechnology, a New York Center for Advanced Technology, where he was responsible for facilitating a number of industry/academic collaborations, as well as co-managing the Center’s Technology Development fund, and developing commercialization strategies for early stage technology.
Sean received his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Stony Brook University in 2006.
