An opportunity to spend 10 weeks at Stony Brook University in a biotechnology laboratory
learning molecular biology techniques and performing a mentored research project

Isolation of DNA | Inoculation of bacterial cultures |
Mini preps from bacterial cultures | Restriction enzyme digests |
Ligation of DNA | Bacterial transformation |
Preparation of solutions | Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) |
Restriction fragment length polymorphism | Pubmed literature searches |
Gel electrophoresis (agarose and polyacrylamide) | Genome database searches |
Protein expression & purification | Bioinformatics tools |
Western blotting | PowerPoint presentations |
