• Biography
   

  Heejeong Sohn is a historian with a strong interest in language practices in Korea. Her research interests includes photography and visual culture, history of American missionaries, and language practices in modern and contemporary Korea. She received her Ph.D. from Stony Brook University and teaches courses about Korean history, Korean culture, language practices and policies in both South and North Korea, Korean language courses, as well as a senior seminar in Korean Studies.

  She also serves as director of the Korean Studies Program in the university.
