Special Collections
The depth and uniqueness of the materials housed in Special Collections and University Archives offer limitless opportunities for scholarship and document and support a wide range of disciplines.
The department is particularly recognized for: its expanding and extensive Long Island Collection that includes rare books, maps, manuscripts, pamphlets, newspapers, and ephemeral materials that date back to the seventeenth century; the Senator Jacob K. Javits Collection; and the William Butler Yeats Collection, which is the most extensive collection of the famed Irish poet and author’s manuscripts in existence housed outside of Ireland.
