Access Stony Brook
The Office of Equity and Access (OEA) is charged with ensuring that Stony Brook University, Stony Brook Medicine, and LISVH provide a campus environment that is safe, welcoming, accessible, and free from all forms of discrimination.
This website is designed to aggregate a number of resources distributed across campus that will help you to create accessible content, tools, and processes, or direct you toward other accessibility-related resources throughout campus. If you have questions, please contact digital_accessibility@stonybrook.edu
If you encounter a physical or digital accessibility Barrier you may report the barrier using theAccessibility Barrier Reporting form.
Digital Accessibility
An important part of fulfilling our mission is serving as the primary point of contact for digital accessibility. The ultimate goal for digital accessibility in this context means that persons with disabilities are able to interact with or gain the same benefit from the content or technology at the same time and with equivalent ease of use. The degree to which we rely on technology, combined with the speed of change in the tools and processes that we use, means that content creators should include accessibility within the design. Just as we design buildings with accessibility in mind, we must design our technology and content to be accessible from the start.
