Office of Equity and Access Fall Update

OEA Logo

The Office of Equity and Access (OEA) serves the Stony Brook University Community - from Southampton to Main Campus to Manhattan and all Stony Brook University programs or activities. Our goal is to ensure Stony Brook University's commitment to work and educational environments that are safe, accessible, and free from discrimination.

As we continue to cope with the current COVID-19 crisis and many of us get settled into returning to the workplace OEA wanted to ensure that all faculty and staff are aware of what services we provide and how employees and other members of the campus community can access them.

The COVID-19 crisis has brought the important work of ensuring that employees working with permanent or temporary disabilities have access to reasonable accommodations into sharper focus than ever before.  OEA has a 5-step Accommodation Process for review,  implementation and management of accommodation requests to serve all otherwise qualified disabled employees who require an accommodation to perform an essential job function.

If you require an accommodation due to a medical condition or impairment - whether or not the request is related to the current COVID-19 crisis - please our online form to request an accommodation.
