Bicycle & Car Registration
As a residential student you are welcome to bring a car and/or bicycle to campus, please fill out this form before arriving on campus.
Student Life will provide a barcode for bicycles by appointment. Students must remove bicycles from campus at the end of their housing contract. Unregistered bicycles can be removal and disposal at the end of each Academic Year.
All residential students with vehicles need to register their car for safety and communication purposes. Parking is open and at no cost across the Southampton Campus. Guests and commuter students visiting the residence halls are welcome to park in designated residential parking lots.
If you need a parking pass for Stony Book University Campus, please visit the Mobility and Parking Services page to request and register for a pass prior to parking at West and East Campuses.
Parking Expectations:
By parking your car on campus, you agree to the following rules:
- Please hang your tag up when parked on our campus.
- Designated residential parking lots are near Amagansett and Shelter Island Halls.
- Campus Speed Limit is 15 MPH
- Federal Circle (street around the Residence Halls) is a ONE WAY street
- Thru traffic is not permitted past East Cottage/Windmill (reserved for UPD)
- Not to park in Fire Lanes (except for active moving-in, moving out, and unloading groceries with hazard lights on). Strict Limit of 15 minutes unless otherwise given permission by Student Life Professional staff or University Police.
- Even though we have open parking throughout campus, residents cannot park in Handicap without valid pass, Professional staff on Duty, Fire lanes in front of buildings or Service Vehicle lanes in between the buildings.
- You are welcome to park near the Student Center and academic buildings without parking pass.
- If you need to park on Stony Brook West or East Campus, you need to register your car with Mobility and Parking Services or use appropriate meter lots as a guest. The Southampton Car Registration is not valid on those campuses, and you will be ticketed.
- There may be times when lots get full and may not be able to park near your building but can at another residential lot. Student Life will notify residents when a special event occurs that may impact parking.
- Please return the pass upon checkout from the Residence Halls.
