Ari Sonesh, the founder and CEO of CosmoCom
Ari Sonesh, the founder and CEO of CosmoCom, has been responsible for the strategic direction of the company since its inception. Under Ari's leadership, CosmoCom grew from an idea on a napkin, to a patent for multimedia call distribution over IP, to a global IP Contact Center Software Company headquartered on Long Island with offices around the world.
CosmoCom’s flagship product, CosmoCall Universe™, is now the most selected hosted, cloud based contact center platform of tier-one service providers globally. In 1995, Ari envisioned an entirely new marketplace for cloud based contact center systems that would live in the rapidly expanding universe of IP (Internet Protocol) Telephony. He knew this change was going to be big and decided to call his company CosmoCom, to capture in its name a sense of the upside potential for a software product that was built from the ground up,taking advantage of the convergence of voice and data.
Ari Sonesh’s ability to not only see the future direction of technology, but also build a product and a global company to take it to market, was honed by the changes he had already lived through. Born in Prague in 1952, Sonesh moved with his family to Israel in 1964 when he was 12, and then immigrated again in 1985 to USA. His resume is far ranging: He oversaw technology on missile ships during 8 years with the Israeli Navy. He has held both R&D and management positions with Israeli-based Elbit Systems, as well as with General Telecomputer, start-up company thatbrought to market an early Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) technolgy. Ari Sonesh was also VP Operations/Engineering for another startup Comverse Technology, a company which pioneered voicemail platforms for telecoms. Finally in 1996 Ari founded CosmoCom. Sonesh holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Technion the Israeli Institute of Technology, and several patents including a fundamental patent for a cloud based “Multimedia Telecommunication Automatic Call Distribution System” utilizing IP networks.
