ADV 101 TA

Teacher Assistant

Do you have at least a 2.8 GPA?  Have you earned or have in progress at least 36 credits?

You may be eligible to become an ADV 101 Teaching Assistant. Highlights:

  • Gain experience in student support, leadership, teaching, public speaking and more!
  • Serve as a role model for your peers.
  • Earn 1 upper division credit through enrollment in ADV 475.
  • Satisfy EXP+ (Stony Brook Curriculum).

FRONT DESK

Student Assistant

Academic and Transfer Advising Services (ATAS) front desk position typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Front desk coverage to assist students and visitors to ATAS, direct students and visitors to the appropriate office and sign-in students for advising appointments.
  • Answer, screen, and direct calls in a professional manner.                        
  • Assist with on-campus student events and projects as needed.
  • Other clerical duties, including but not limited to filing, photocopying, and on-campus errands.

This is not a remote student assistant position.

STUDENT REGISTRATION ASSISTANT (SRA) 

New Transfer Student Registration

Student Registration Assistants (SRA) are current Stony Brook Undergraduates who welcome new incoming transfer students and assist with the multiple steps required to register for their first semester classes. SRAs will participate in registration appointments for incoming transfer students throughout the summer or winter assisting a professional staff member. SRAs will gain knowledge in the areas of enrollment readiness, registration, data management, and student service.

This position will primarily take place virtually.
