Research Interests
I am a primate behavioral ecologist interested in how social dynamics vary across the landscape. By considering the adaptive value of interactions within and between social groups, my work addresses the evolution of the complex social systems that typify primates, including our own species. My current work focuses primarily on (1) the relative pressures exerted by competition within and between groups and (2) resource partitioning among conspecifics. Additionally, I am developing new research that will examine (3) how group-level processes affect individual fitness outcomes and how individual relationships influence group-level dynamics.
