Book Buyback Kickoff Scores Barnes & Noble Gift Cards for Students
November 29, 2010 - Starting the week of December 10th, the University Bookstore will be posting “Buyback Bucks” certificates on bulletin boards throughout the Stony Brook University campus. Students are encouraged to find the special laminated certificates, take them from the board, and bring them to the University Bookstore where they can be redeemed for a $5 or $10 Barnes and Noble Gift Card! This scavenger hunt is sure to be one of the most exciting events that the bookstore has ever offered, so be sure to keep an eye out for each special certificate!
The University Bookstore has started this exciting new promotion just in time for buyback. Between, December 10th and 20th, students can receive up to 50% of the book’s new selling price in cash no matter where the book was purchased. “We want students to take advantage of the Guaranteed Buyback Program by purchasing select textbooks with the Guaranteed Buyback stickers,” said Boon Teo, Bookstore Manager. Textbooks with the Guaranteed Buyback sticker guarantee that students will receive 50% of the new book’s selling price. These books are guaranteed because professors have committed to use the textbook for more than one semester.
Students are also encouraged to attend Midnight Breakfast on December 13th in the Stony Brook Union to sell back their textbooks. The bookstore staff will be in the lobby at 10:00pm to buy back textbooks and give students a coupon for 20% off any item in the bookstore’s holiday gift guide! With the holidays just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to stop by the University Bookstore and check out all of the exciting deals and savings available.
