The History Museum presents permanent and changing exhibitions that bring to life the history of Long
Island and its relation to American culture. The Art Museum features American art from the museum’s collection as well as traveling exhibitions. The Carriage Museum features 10 galleries housing the museum’s collection of more than 200 horse-drawn
carriages, widely recognized as the finest in the United States.
HOURS: Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon - 5 p.m. Admission

In 1920, August Heckscher, Industrialist, Real Estate Developer, and Philanthropist,
dedicated the Heckscher Museum of Art's beaux-arts building, his personal art collection,
and the surrounding 18.5-acre park to "the people of Huntington, especially the children."
Today, the Museum is known throughout the Long Island Community as a premier cultural
and educational resource that houses a distinguished permanent art collection, presents
major exhibitions, and offers educational programs for individuals of all ages on
European and American art, from the Renaissance to the present.

National Maritime Historic Landmark. Museum, tower and gift shop. Tours of 20 or more
are welcomed all year. Admission price includes museum, gift shop and tower climb
as well as a 28 minute video. This is the oldest lighthouse on Long Island, and also
the oldest in New York State, completed in 1796 on a spot where the Royal Navy had
maintained signal bonfires for its ships during the American Revolution. Located at
the easternmost tip of Long Island.

Located on 145 acres in Roslyn Harbor, the Nassau County Museum of Art combines the
dynamic imagery of a museum experience with an historic mansion, extraordinary Outdoor
Sculpture Garden and formal gardens. NCMA provides the Long Island community and beyond
with four important exhibitions per year of prominent, world renowned artists.
