The Jazz Loft: 275 Christian Avenue, Stony Brook
This month’s calendar at The Jazz Loft offers something for everyone! The Jazz Loft’s
popular Strictly Sinatra shows return, with a first-time ever afternoon show! The
Jazz Loft founder Tom Manuel will also be spinning some rare jazz tunes in the Coal
Bin, along with mixing up some signature cocktails in Hangoutology Meets Mixology,

Saturdays at Six Concert Series
August 5, 2023 - 6pm
All Souls Church: 61 Main Street, Stony Brook.
The August 5 Saturdays at Six Concerts at historic All Souls Church will combine, music, poetry and drumming in one unique performance for the community.
The musical pieces interspersed with the poetry will include Native American Drumming;
a mix of baroque, modern, improvisation music from SBU musicians and composers; and classical music performed by Dan Kinney on All Souls’ almost 200-year-old Henry
Erben-designed tracker organ. The program will begin promptly at 6:00pm. All Souls Church collects food each week to help feed the hungry at St Gerard Majella
food pantry. Please bring a can of food to donate if you want to help feed the hungry

Stony Brook Village Self-Guided Audio Experience
Stony Brook Village, NY
Stony Brook Village is presenting an audio experience which is now available and can
be enjoyed on your own time and at your own pace! The experience is FREE to the public
and will allow all visitors of Stony Brook Village to immerse themselves in the quirky
history and stories of the lifestyle center and some of its surrounding properties.
The audio experience is obtained by scanning QR codes throughout the village and is
also available here.
Gallery North: Hanusa Design Mathematical Jewelry
Setauket, NY
Gallery North’s featured gift shop artist this month is Christopher Hanusa. Based
in New York City, Christopher Hanusa is a Professor of Mathematics and a mathematical
artist. Inspired by the beauty of mathematics, he started Hanusa Design Mathematical
Jewelry in which each piece is 3D modeled using mathematical equations and 3D printed
in nylon or metal. Such pieces can be found in the National Museum of Mathematics,

YMCA Family Services: Free Youth Counseling
Starting October 18
The YMCA Family Services is offering free groups and counseling for youth ages 6-21.
Part of Suffolk County Youth Bureau's Diversion Project, groups will start the week
of October 18, 2021. Featuring strategies for adapting to change, managing difficult
emotions, increasing self esteem, and much more.
