Investing in the Future:
The New Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Building

Shaping the Future of Engineering

The MDE will support advanced teaching, research, and collaboration. This facility will drive interdisciplinary innovation and enhance our mission of providing an exceptional learning environment.

Visionary Design

Located west of Stony Brook's New Computer Science building, the MDE will create a second engineering quad with green spaces and room for future expansion. With  16 research labs (wet and dry), a large lecture hall, and a student maker space, the building will also feature student collaboration spaces and the CEAS dean’s suite.

Impact for Stony Brook University

The MDE will advance Stony Brook University by driving innovation, expanding educational opportunities, and attracting top talent. The MDE will support transformative research, accommodate growing enrollment and funding, and house the NeuroAI Institute with labs for all academic levels in quantum computing, AI, and healthcare.
