On October 5, 2018, Stony Brook University honored Peter and Nancy Richard and family for their $3.5 million gift to Stony Brook Children's Hospital emergency department expansion by naming the new building’s lobby the "Peter & Nancy Richard Family Foundation Lobby."

Two Anonymous Donors from Community have donated $2M to expand pediatric emergency services at Stony Brook Children’s. 

Following the Peter and Nancy Richard Family Foundation's $3.5 million lead gift to establish the Pediatric Emergency Expansion Fund, two additional donors have joined the Richard Family, contributing an additional $2 million to the Fund. These donors, who wish to remain anonymous, have brought the Fund past the halfway point of the $10 million fundraising goal.
