How to Apply to Stony Brook IRACDA

Start Date:  Cohort 13: On or after September 1st (based on date of degree conferral)

 Step 1: Identify potential research faculty mentors from Stony Brook University

You are not limited to the mentors on the list. Any research faculty at SBU may be considered. Selected mentors and/or departments will be contacted by IRACDA staff to match candidates with their research interests. However, we strongly encourage applicants to make contact with potential mentors as well. 

Step 2: Submit an online application to the open requisition on the Jobs @ Stony Brook University Website. The following supporting documents must also be submitted as attachments to the online application. 

  1. A document that identifies potential research faculty mentors from Stony Brook University
  2. CV (including publications, conference participation and teaching experience) and cover letter
  3. Personal Statement: 1-2 pages highlighting the following
            • career goals
            • commitment to teaching
            • research experience
            • teaching experience
            • interest/experience working with underrepresented students
            • potential Research Mentors

Step 3: Submit 3 Letters of Recommendation:  One of these letters must be from your PhD advisor/PI.  These may be emailed by their authors directly to iracda@stonybrook.edu.  The applicant's name should be in the subject heading.

 

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all items are submitted on time.
