James Acquaviva

Jim joined Stony Brook University in fall 2022, where he leads high-impact academic and industrial collaborations in the energy sector.

An experienced professional, Jim has built his career at the intersection of technology and industry. He began as an R&D engineer at Pall Corporation, eventually becoming Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development. While at Pall, he led cross functional teams and served as Principal Investigator for DOE and NYSERDA funded projects. He is also a co-inventor on three patents.

Jim has held leadership roles in sales and marketing for custom equipment across a broad range industries such as aerospace and semiconductors. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
