Fundraising Efforts

After extensive research and discussion among our organizing committee, we have decided to donate the funds raised to several organizations serving affected areas in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. All organizations chosen are certified 501(c)(3) nonprofits and have been evaluated favorably on CharityNavigator.org.

One America Appeal

Formed by former U.S.A. Presidents Carter, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obamas, this is a private organization to support relief and recovery efforts in devastated U.S. States and Territories. Money raised will be allocated to several organizations on the ground, including: Rebuild Texas Fund in the Houston Area, Florida Disaster Relief, Unidos Por Puerto Rico, and Fund for the Virgin Islands established by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands. Direct Relief

This organization is directly supporting Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Harvey, and Mexico earthquake relief efforts. Funds will support U.S. states and territories as well as Caribbean nations and Mexico. Direct Relief delivers lifesaving healthcare supplies and works to improve overall health in communities affected by tragedy, emergencies, and poverty. Save the Children

This organization focuses on “providing critical aid to children and families who need it most, so they can survive…crisis, recover from their losses and rebuild their lives.” They have emergency response teams on the ground in areas affected by recent hurricanes. Save the Children often partners with other organizations such as Red Cross to create more efficient and coordinated efforts. For information, please visit the Save the Children website.
