Dr. Liliana M. Dávalos' new book published, "The Origins of Cocaine: Colonization and Failed Development in the Amazon Andes", edited with Paul Gootenberg.

J. Matt Hoch, E&E Ph.D. in 2009, has just been promoted at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He arrived there after finishing a postdoc with Joel Trexler at Florida International University, working on fish community ecology. He did his Ph.D. at SBU on sex allocation in barnacles.

Dan Stobel will be promoted to associate professor with tenure at Harvey Mudd College as of the end of this semester.

Brenna Henn has been invited to be on the editorial board of Molecular Biology and Evolution! This is the highest impact journal in evolutionary biology. Significant accomplishment for a junior faculty member.
