Data presented here derive from the IPEDS Finance Survey, which is prepared by System Office staff from the general purpose financial statements for the System with consultation from Stony Brook's Office of Accounting Services. As a public institution, Stony Brook University follows reporting standards from the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Data provided here generally comport with data that appear in the Annual Financial Report and reflect actual revenue and spending. These figures will differ from annual budgets, which represent the University plan for revenue and expenditures.
