General Questions

Class Enrollment

- Review & address any Holds on your account that will impact enrollment
-Located on left hand side on SOLAR
- To be enrolled full time, please reference the Graduate Bulletin for appropriate credit amounts
-MS Students: Only students who have completed the form & identified themselves as pursuing a Masters w/Thesis are eligible for enrollment in ESM 599
-PhD Students: TA Assignments will be assigned over the summer; all other courses should be enrolled as soon as you are able
Class Permissions
- Please utilize the Grad Class Permission Form on our website
-Note: this can only be submitted for ESM/CME courses & can only be submitted once your enrollment appointment has passed
Academic Deadlines
- Please review the Academic Calendar for important deadlines regarding add/drop & tuition liability deadlines
VIS Good Standing Letter
- Use this form for requests
-All requests must be submitted at least 3 weeks prior to your need by date
-You must be fully enrolled in all eligible semesters
- Failure to submit the request on time means that you will need to utilize the Enrollment Verification Form without a corresponding letter
Course Exceptions
- Departmental Policy: Only 6 credits outside of your primary program can be counted toward your coursework credits for graduation
- Important Note for Future Semesters: Exceptions not officially on file by the start of the semester will not be considered and therefore will not be able to count toward graduation requirements
- For any courses taken in previous semesters, I am in the process of reviewing individual files. I will be emailing students with the course exceptions that are officially noted in your file
Graduation
- If you are planning on graduating in the Fall 2021 semester, please review the Graduate Bulletin & the Graduate School website
- Deadline for Submitting Application for Graduation: Wednesday, November 10, 2021
-MS Students: Apply on SOLAR
-PhD Students: Apply on Graduate School Website
- Please note that you are held to the requirements as stipulated in the Graduate Bulletin at the time of your entrance into your degree program
- If you are applied for graduation and are anticipating a grade change, please email ESMandCME_GradInfo@stonybrook.edu
-Failure to communicate this may result in your degree being awarded prior to your grade change & grade changes cannot be altered after a degree is awarded
