Welcome to the homepage of the Graduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at Stony Brook University.
The Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) Graduate Program at Stony Brook University offers graduate training in virtually all aspects of modern biological sciences. Our students select their thesis advisors from over 100 faculty members in several departments: Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Pathology, Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Physiology, and Medicine. The MCB graduate program also enjoys close scientific links with the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory. The MCB program serves as an umbrella program that builds close ties among all contributing departments, with the intent of promoting a collaborative environment that encourages interdisciplinary research. The MCB program is designed to provide diverse training opportunities for graduate student and enhance their learning experience. The stimulating environment, rigorous training, and practical guidance by the faculty prepare students for successful and independent careers in biological sciences. We invite you to learn more about our program. The MCB graduate program "considers all candidates equally, regardless of state of residence, and particularly encourages applications from women, individuals with disabilities, and members of racial and/or ethnic groups currently under-represented in biomedical science."
