Daniel Meszaros, Clarinet
Hungarian clarinetist Daniel Meszaros is currently a master's student at Stony Brook University, where he Studies with Alan R. Kay and teaches the undergraduate clarinet studio. Daniel earned both his bachelor's and master’s degree at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary, where he graduated with outstanding overall classification.Â
During his time in Hungary, Daniel successfully participated in many prestigious competitions where he earned numerous awards, including but not limited to First Prize at FEMUS Woodwind Competition (Serbia, 2016),First Prize in Soloist category and Second Prize in Chamber Music category at Citta’ di Palmanova Music Competition (Italy, 2018), Third Prize in the XIV. National Clarinet Competition (Hungary, 2018), Special Prize in the I. Mozgovenko International Clarinet Competition (Russia, 2019), Second Prize in the XX. Kiejstut Bacewicz Chamber Music Competition (Poland, 2019), Second Prize in the IV. International Danubia Talents Music Competition (Hungary, 2019), Second Prize in the I. International Piano Chamber Music Competition (Estonia, 2021) and Third Prize in the XX. Citta’ di Carlino International Clarinet Competition (Italy, 2022).
Daniel was a teacher for 3 years at the XVII. District Bela Bartok Elementary School of music in Budapest, Hungary. This experience not only deepened his passion for teaching but also honed his pedagogical skills, equipping him as a highly qualified candidate for a wide range of teaching positions.Â
He also participated in masterclasses with world famous musicians such as BĂ©la Kovács, István Kohán, Milan Rericha, Charles Neidich, Márta Gulyás, Pascal Gallois, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Francois Leleux, Felix Renggli, György Pauk, Barnabás Kelemen and Gábor Takács-Nagy.Â
