Comprehensive Reports

Comprehensive reports for each academic degree or certificate program include the following components, which are defined by SUNY policy. [1]

• A program self-study of program, including a narrative describing business measurements such as student enrollment trends, faculty productivity, budget measures, etc. Many of these measurements are maintained by Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness.
• An assessment of student learning, comprised by evidence gathered over several years and reflected in annual assessment reports. Evidence for assessment of student learning should include both direct and indirect measurements of the program, defensible standards for evaluating whether students are achieving the defined learning goals, as well as clear examples of how assessment results were used in decisions to improve or support the student learning through the curriculum or instruction.
• An external review, consisting of a qualified team of experts who consider the above two components as well as other items.
