Current Working Groups

  • New Student Onboarding Working Group

Leadership from the Divisions of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management are partnering to ensure a smoother transitional experience for incoming Seawolves. By viewing the matriculation timeline from a student's perspective, and speaking directly with students who joined in fall 2023, this team is aiming to reduce delays and barriers by: simplifying forms and processes; reviewing placement exam timing and access; streamlining communication processes over the summer months; and more.

  • Academic Advising Working Group

Academic advising has long been understood as the "single most powerful predictor" of college satisfaction and connectedness, which in turn positively impacts academic outcomes, and reduces equity gaps.  A team of faculty and staff, in consultation with students, are looking to understand the advising experience on campus, including: enhancing academic advising to provide the best experience for both students and advisors; optimizing advisor training across units; and developing a professional career ladder for advisors that promotes continued growth and development.
