Our Purpose For Being 

The Spirit of Stony Brook was founded to help promote the vibrant and spirited Stony Brook University community through the establishment and entrenchment of deeply-seated campus traditions as performed at athletic events, major campus events, and university celebrations. The Band recognizes and values the unique and important role it plays in connecting with the local and regional community, and is committed to establishing partnerships and outreach efforts that promote and advance service to the community.
