Workshops
The Counseling Center workshops on a wide range of topics to support your mental health and well-being. A workshop is distinct from counseling or group sessions in that it incorporates education, practice of coping strategies, and self-exploration exercises that assist you in being an advocate for your own health.
Please know that this is a skill-building workshop and is not a counseling space. Due to the open and online nature of this support space, this workshop is not private or confidential though participants are encouraged to be respectful and mindful of each other and to practice discretion.
SCHEDULING IS BASED ON STUDENT INTEREST/AVAILABILITY. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER, PLEASE CALL CAPS (631-632-6720) TO EXPRESS INTEREST
Please arrive 5 minutes early to all virtual workshops in order to maximize your time. It is also encouraged to bring a journal or notebook to any workshops you attend, as you will be asked to take notes and jot down your reactions to coping skills practiced throughout.
NOTE: Please be aware when you join the Zoom meeting that you may be in the "waiting room" for a couple minutes before joining the call. This is due to the workshop leader making sure all technology and materials are prepared before beginning. We thank you for your patience!
For our virtual workshops, we strongly encourage all participants to keep their cameras turned on during the session. Maintaining cameras enables a more personal and engaging experience.
