Campus Residences Guest Policy Update

Dear Seawolves,

Our Campus Residences Guest Policy was scheduled to be modified tomorrow to allow overnight guests and non-resident guests in our residential spaces.  After careful consideration, and in the interest of the health and safety of our community, we have decided to maintain our current limited guest policy at least until Friday, September 24, pending improvement in residential student COVID testing compliance.

It’s critical that you participate in testing and remain as vigilant as possible as many COVID cases are asymptomatic, meaning you can be infected and feel fine, and unknowingly and unintentionally spread the disease to others.

Please read the important reminders below regarding the current limited guest policy:

  • No overnight guests are permitted in campus residence hall rooms, suites, or apartments.
  • Each resident is permitted to have one resident guest.
  • Non-resident guests are not permitted, including commuter or off-campus students, family members, or friends.

We encourage you to review the guest policy that will be in effect once testing compliance improves.  Full details on both the current and pending guest policies are noted on the Campus Residences Policies website.

We will continue to monitor testing compliance and send you an update by September 24 regarding any modifications to our guest policy.  Our top priority is to ensure that we keep you and the residential community safe.  Please continue to do your part by getting tested according to your testing schedule, wearing your face covering over your nose and mouth, and washing your hands regularly.

Thank you for your continued commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our residential community.

Sincerely,

Rick Gatteau, PhD
Vice President for Students Affairs
