Subject: 3 Things You Need to Know & Do Before Coming to Campus

Dear Seawolves,

As mentioned in our January 1 message, please complete the 3 required action steps below before moving into our residential community for the Spring 2022 semester:

  • Get a COVID test within 3 days prior to your first day on campus. This test can be a PCR, antigen, or at-home test.  If it's negative, you can come to campus.  If it's positive, stay home for at least 5 days and until you have no symptoms.  If you've had COVID in the last 90 days, don't get another test since it may continue to show a positive result. For more information, please readthese FAQs.
  • Get your COVID vaccine booster as soon as you are eligible.  You are eligible (and required) to get your booster and submit proof of the vaccine booster to the Wolfie Health Portal based upon the information mentioned on this site.
  • Plan ahead in the eventuality you test positive and need to isolate/quarantine. If your home address is within 50 miles of Stony Brook, you are required to isolate and quarantine at home. If this applies to you, have a plan ready if you test positive and must isolate, or if you have not yet received your vaccine and/or booster and are exposed to someone with COVID and must quarantine. If you test positive for COVID, you cannot take public transportation, so you need to make a plan for housing and transportation now should you test positive later. For more information, please readthese FAQs.

Thank you for your continued commitment to ensuring the health and safety of our campus community and a successful spring semester!

Sincerely,
