    About the Program

    Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West. CUHK offers studies in seven faculties - Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Medicine, Science and Social Science - and the new School of Law. Students enroll directly in University courses along with Chinese and other international students. Courses are instructed in English.

    Course of Study

    *Students must maintain full-time status while abroad

    The program will have a broad selection of courses. Students will also have the opportunity to interact and make friends with their peers from around the globe.

    This is a partner university program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their International Programs Coordinator.

    Additional Information

    Grades earned in a Partner University program   WILL NOT  calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.

    Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.

    Students must be matriculated in an undergraduate degree program.

    Fall/academic year admission: February 15 (Deadline has been extended to March 1)

    Spring admission: August 25

    Candidates may be interviewed to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.

    $60

    Tuition Rate $ 3,435 per semester for NY residents

    $12,270 per semester for non-residents
    Program Fee $750 per semester
    Administrative Fee

    $200 (non-refundable)

    International Health Insurance $55 per month approximately. Note: The host university may also require a domestic health plan, and will send details regarding costs to students directly.
    Other Fees $3,750-$5,500 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)
    Travel Costs $2,000-$2,740 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)

    Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change at any point.
