Registration Appointment

 

ATAS will be contacting you via your Stony Brook and personal email to inform you of your Registration Appointment. You will also get a reminder phone call. You must complete several items on your portal checklist to be assigned a registration appointment. 

Please understand that you cannot choose your registration appointment date.  In order to best assist all of our incoming transfer students, we need to assign students to specific dates and times. 

During your registration appointment, you will be meeting with an academic advisor to review your transfer credits and register for your first semester classes.

 

What to expect during your appointment

The Format

  • Zoom Meeting through stonybrook.zoom.us (Use a laptop or computer; you cannot use a cellphone.)
  • 90 minutes session
  • 1 Registration Advisor + Student Registration Assistant + Another new transfer student

  • SBU advising model
  • SBU’s Graduation requirements
  • Register for Spring 2025 courses

How to Prepare

  • Plan to arrive at the start time of your appointment
  • The appointment is 90 minutes long; plan to stay the entire time. 
  • Test your access to stonybrook.zoom.us
  • Have your SOLAR ID and password ready. 
  • Have a laptop or computer with a camera and microphone; you cannot use your cell phone. 
  • Clear all SOLAR holds, except for the ADV hold, which will be removed prior to your appointment by your Registration adviser.

Things to Keep in mind

  • We have limited evening and online courses. 
  • Plan for a 5 day course schedule.
  • We do not offer weekend courses.
