  • Saajid Chowdhury
    Saajid
    Ph. D. Student

Saajid loves to come up with creative strategies to solve tricky puzzles in the areas of theoretical physics, pure math, and computer algorithms. He is currently working on using the variational Monte Carlo (VMC) technique to study various systems, such as axion stars.

  • Mahmoud Ibrahim
    Mahmoud
    Ph. D. StudentInterests

Mahmoud  is interested in computational and data science and its applications in physics and other disciplines of natural and social sciences.

  • Daniel Julian
    dan
    Undergrad StudentInterest

My research interests include applying machine learning techniques to AMO physics, such as predicting final states of reactive chemical collisions. For fun, I like to play the saxophone in the university big band and in a community band.

  • Rian Koots
    Rian
    Ph.D. StudentInterests

Rian is interested in using computational methods to study fundamental problems in physics and working on few-body dynamics.

  • Zhongqi Liang
    fig2
Ph.D. StudentInterests I am interested in the mathematical structure of few body problems. Specifically, I try to introduce mathematical methods from other physics subfields, such as classical mechanics and condensed matter physics, into the realm of few-body physics. Outside of physics, I enjoy reading about human society and creating my own fictional universe.
  • Mateo Londoño Castellanos
    Mateo
Ph.D. StudentInterests Mateo is interested in studying the few-body mechanisms involved in chemical dynamics, specifically at ultracold temperatures. His interests also involve light-matter interaction, open quantum systems and the possible application of quantum matter in high-precision metrology.
  • Ruiren Shi
    ruiren
Ph.D. StudentInterersts Ruiren is interested in quantum chemistry and quantum computing. Currently he is mainly calculating the cross section spectrum of the collision between a stationary ion and a moving particle, and improving existing quantum algorithm (Geometric Quantum Adiabatic Evolution) so that it can be used to calculate reaction surfaces.
  • Jonathan Smucker
    Dr. Jonathan Smucker
    PostdocInterests

Jonathan is interested in cold and ultra-cold chemistry and in the study of related chemical processes. He is currently studying the effects of the dipole-dipole interaction on pendular states in a lattice.

  • Weiqi Wang
    weiqi
Ph.D. StudentInterests Weiqi is interested in quantum chemistry and focus on the development of new tools to deal with complex chemical reaction networks.
  • Yu Wang
    Yu
Master StudentInterests Yu is  interested in few-body physics. Currently, he is working on refinement of classical trajectory simulation of 3-body recombination processes.  His personal interest lies in reading and model building with preferred genres like science fiction and detective fiction.
  • Jesús Pérez Ríos
    JPR
Assistant ProfessorInterests Fundamental atomic and molecular processes at the borderline of different disciplines like chemical physics,  physics beyond the standard model and condensed matter.
