Volunteering
Volunteers provide an important service to our community members by running the daily pantry operations. Our student volunteers are undergraduate or graduate students who express passion for combating food insecurity, possess excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate a commitment to the overall mission of the Stony Brook University Seawolves Pantry. We greatly appreciate the hard work and commitment that our volunteers commit each and every semester.
Volunteer cohorts are organized on a semesterly basis, with new volunteer opportunities opening up four times a year: standard Fall and Spring semesters, as well as the intersession Winter and Summer sessions.

One-Time Volunteering
Can't commit to a whole semester? No worries! We also offer one-time volunteering opportunities for those who would like to contribute to our mission in their free time.
Please submit this form to enter our waiting list of one-time volunteers. When any one-time volunteer opportunities arise that match your given availability, you will receive an email invitation.

Student Employment & Internship Opportunities
For-Credit Undergraduate Internship
Our undergraduate student interns support the overall operations of the pantry while also assisting with programming and initiatives to promote the resources we offer. Our interns' commitment to the pantry is essential for ensuring that out operations run smoothly, so that our shelves remain stocked and our door remains open.

Graduate Student Coordinator
Our graduate coordinators support the administrative operations of the food pantry by overseeing programs, resources, and initiatives. Our graduates provide oversight of internal management systems, strategic planning, and cross-campus collaborations, while supervising student volunteers and undergraduate interns.
This position requires 15 hours per week, with responsibilities conducted on-site at the Seawolves Pantry over the duration of an entire academic year.
