Monica Panigassi Vicentini received her Licentiate degree in Letras, a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from State University of Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil). Her Ph.D dissertation focused on the integrated writing tasks of The Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners (Celpe-Bras). Her research interests include Language Testing and Assessment, Integrated Writing Tasks, Celpe-Bras, and Portuguese as a Second/ Foreign Language Teaching. She worked as a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pennsylvania), and she taught Portuguese in Cuba, and Brazil. Currently, in the US, she is the selected Lecturer of the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations to promote the study of Portuguese language and Brazilian cultures at Stony Brook University.
