Directions to Childs Mansion, 19 Shore Drive, Old Field

(10 minutes from the north entrance ~4 miles)

  • Take Nicolls Road North to end
  • Make a left onto 25A
  • Make a right at your first light onto Quaker Path
  • After fourth stop sign bear left onto Mt. Grey Road
  • After passing West Meadow Rd., look for tan brick pillars with spheres on the top on the left and then a "Do Not Enter Sign" and a second small roadway with a white post with the name Crane Neck Road
  • Turn left onto Crane Neck Road
  • Take Crane Neck Road for 1/4 mile to the bottom of a right-hand descending turn Make a right onto Shore Drive, which is marked with another white post and a forked entrance
  • Childs Mansion is the large whitish colonial house on the left
  • Continue past it to the end of the road
  • Make a left into the Flax Pond Lab parking lot
