The Handy cluster is for use by IACS Core & Affiliate Faculty and their students/collaborators only. Handy's hardware includes 40 compute nodes (each with dual socket 2.6 GHz Xeon E5-2670 processors, 16 cores per node, and 128 GB of memory), and two high-performance file servers direct attached to a total of 350 TB of storage. In addition there are two “fat” nodes configured with more memory (256 GB) to support data analysis and software development.

If you are interested in setting up an account, please submit a ticket via https://iacs.supportsystem.com. In the Help Topics drop down list, pick Request an Account for Handy.

For those who publish as a result of research undertaken on the Handy cluster, please use the following acknowledgment:

Results in this paper were obtained using the high-performance Handy computing system at the Institute for Advanced Computational Science at Stony Brook University.
