Opportunities

The Institute for Advanced Computational Science offers several scholarships for graduate students already working or planning to work with core or affiliated faculty of the institute. The Jr. Researcher and New Recruit scholarships are subject to an application process initially as well as a subsequent review process for evaluation of performance. Only full-time, fully supported graduate students are eligible for IACS scholarships. All IACS scholarships are offered to both domestic and international students. Travel scholarships are offered to both domestic and international graduate students and postdocs.

For students who receive a Jr. Researcher or New Recruit scholarship but subsequently receive a second outside fellowship, for example from NSF or DoE, continuation of the IACS scholarship will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Distinguished IACS scholarship recipients will be permanently identified on the IACS website and in IACS publications, and their work will be highlighted in IACS workshop and conference proceedings. At the Institute for Advanced Computational Science our goal is to provide a springboard for students to reach for and obtain optimal career opportunities associated with the relevant emerging fields of graduate study.
