Programmer Analyst III

Required Qualifications:(As evidenced by an attached resume)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.  Two years of full-time experience programming in Python or C/C++.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.  Experience with high performance computing environments and web technologies.  Experience with ArcGIS, spatial analyses, cloud computing, image analysis algorithms and/or machine learning.       

Brief Description​/Primary Purpose: The incumbent will be responsible for prototyping and delivering production grade cyberinfrastructure for polar imagery processing workflows in high-performance and distributed computing. This includes imagery applications, libraries and workflow toolkits. Knowledge of Image analysis, GIS and Remote Sensing concepts is helpful but not mandatory. Willingness to travel to meet with collaborators or other end users. The incumbent must possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; experience successfully working independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Program in Python/C and related languages

  • Develop software to harness High-performance and distributed computing including cloud infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with application/domain scientist to derive requirements and implement solutions

  • Deliver tested, documented and production grade software

  • Perform satellite image data analysis using algorithms​ and methods, including Machine-Learning techniques.

  • Other duties as assigned.
