IACS is offering the opportunity for six of our core or affiliate students to participate in a 2-day, 16-hour training session run by Software Carpentry. After successfully completing the post-training exercises, participants will receive a PDF certificate attesting they are certified Carpentries instructors. Participants will receive ongoing support and mentorship from Carpentries staff and experienced instructors to help them start teaching at their own institution or other locations. This opportunity is free, but you must fill out an application at least one month prior, and there will be some pre-reading materials in advance of the event. You also cannot be absent during any of the class time.
The possible upcoming dates for training are below. We must have at least six students registered as a team in order for the course to take place. Please respond through the link below if you are interested in taking this course and the dates you would be available.
The first date to fill with six eligible participants will be scheduled. Once the workshop dates are established, those participants will be contacted. All others will be sent an email putting them on a waiting list for a future workshop.
