Ms. Na Zhang and Mr. Zeyang Ye, doctoral students working with IACS affiliate faculty Professor Yuefan Deng, from the Applied Mathematics & Statistics Department, have been invited to present their work at the upcoming annual supercomputing conference SC15, the international conference for high-performance computing, network, and storage, to be held this year in Austin, TX, November 16-21. This prestigious international conference will attract more than 12,000 people from around the world who are involved in supercomputing research in industry, national laboratories and academia.

As an Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) member, Ms. Na Zhang was accepted for both the Doctoral Showcase Program and the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC). The Doctoral Showcase Program is for Ph.D. students, who will be graduating in the next 12 months, to present summaries of their dissertation research. This year 14 students were accepted from 24 submissions. The ACM SRC program is for students to showcase their research in poster format, and the selected poster presenters are given an opportunity to present their work in short talks. This year 26 of 65 submissions were accepted. Ms. Na Zhang will present her work on “Efficient Multiscale Platelets Modeling using Supercomputers.” This is her third time presenting her work at this supercomputing conference. She was also accepted for the early-stage doctoral showcase and for the regular research poster categories at SC13 in Denver and at SC14 in New Orleans.
