US-Japan Joint Institute Collaboration on Exascale Computing

3rd US-Japan Joint Institute for Fusion Theory (JIFT) Workshop was held at Future Center Initiative of University of Tokyo at Kashiwa, on 7-8 of August. The purpose of JIFT is to promote US-Japan collaborations on co-design of fusion applications toward extreme scale computing, and on high performance computing in fusion simulations of core and edge plasma-material interactions. Fourteen researchers from Japan and twelve US researchers were invited to the workshop. Predrag Krstic of IACS gave a talk on Retention and Sputtering Chemistry in Plasma-Material Interface.
